JAKARTA, March 4, 2026 — Foreign ministers of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) have expressed deep concern over escalating tensions in the Middle East, calling on all parties involved to exercise restraint and pursue peaceful solutions through dialogue and diplomacy.

In a joint statement, the ministers urged all sides to avoid actions that could further intensify the conflict and destabilize the region, emphasizing the need to resolve disputes in accordance with international law.

ASEAN also stressed the importance of protecting civilians and preventing the conflict from widening, warning that further escalation could have serious humanitarian and economic consequences.

The regional bloc reiterated its support for diplomatic efforts aimed at reducing tensions and restoring stability, while encouraging all parties to engage constructively in negotiations.

The statement comes amid growing international concern over the worsening security situation in the Middle East following recent military actions and retaliatory attacks involving regional and global powers.

ASEAN said it remains committed to supporting efforts that promote peace, stability and adherence to international law, while urging the international community to work together to prevent further escalation of the conflict.
