Keo Rattanak Highlights Efforts to Maintain Fuel Stability

PHNOM PENH, March 30, 2026 — Cambodia is stepping up efforts to secure fuel supplies and stabilise domestic energy markets, as regional shortages continue to put pressure on supply chains.

Cambodia’s Energy Minister Keo Rattanak said he had visited a major oil and gas terminal over the weekend to oversee fuel deliveries, including the arrival of a 3,400-ton liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) vessel and additional diesel and gasoline shipments.

The deliveries, including a tanker operated by Caltex, reflect ongoing coordination between Cambodian authorities and international suppliers to ensure steady distribution of fuel across the country.

“While supply is tight across the region, we are working hard to maintain stability,” the minister said, urging the public to use fuel responsibly during the current period of pressure on global energy markets.

The government has also introduced tax reductions to cushion the impact of rising global fuel prices, aiming to prevent higher costs from being fully passed on to consumers.

Cambodia, which relies heavily on imported fuel, has been actively strengthening supply resilience and diversifying energy sources amid global volatility.

Officials say the combined approach of securing imports, monitoring supply chains and reducing taxes is helping maintain stability and protect households and businesses from sharp price increases.
