PHNOM PENH, April 6, 2026 — Two warships from Russia’s Pacific Fleet docked at Cambodia’s Sihanoukville Autonomous Port on Monday for a three-day official visit aimed at strengthening defence ties between the two countries.

The vessels — Sovershennyy (No. 333) and Rezkiy (No. 343) — arrived on April 6 and are scheduled to remain until April 8, Cambodian authorities said.

The ships, each measuring about 104 metres in length and weighing more than 2,000 tonnes, are part of Russia’s Pacific Fleet and carry a combined crew of around 262 personnel, led by commanders Artem Shmagin and Evgenii Kovalev.

The delegation was welcomed at the port by Cambodian naval officials, including representatives from the Ream Naval Base, as well as Anatoly Borovik.

During the visit, Russian naval officers and crew are scheduled to hold courtesy meetings with provincial authorities in Preah Sihanouk and Cambodian defence leaders, including Tea Seiha.

Planned activities include ship tours for students and invited guests, as well as friendly football matches between Cambodian and Russian naval personnel.

The visit forms part of ongoing efforts to enhance bilateral cooperation in defence and military exchanges, reflecting long-standing ties between Cambodia and Russia.

Russian naval vessels have made multiple visits to Cambodia in recent years. Since 2011, a total of 18 Russian warships have docked in the country across eight separate visits, according to official data.
