PHNOM PENH, April 9, 2026 — Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet has congratulated Le Minh Hung on his appointment as Prime Minister of Vietnam, reaffirming strong bilateral ties and a commitment to deeper cooperation.

In a formal letter dated April 7, Hun Manet said the appointment reflected the confidence of Vietnam’s leadership and people in Le Minh Hung’s ability to guide the country’s development.

He expressed confidence that under the new prime minister’s leadership, Vietnam would continue to achieve significant progress in socio-economic development and strengthen its role in regional and international affairs.

Hun Manet highlighted the longstanding friendship between Cambodia and Vietnam, describing bilateral relations as rooted in good neighborliness, comprehensive cooperation and long-term stability.

He also said he looked forward to meeting his Vietnamese counterpart to further expand cooperation, including within the Association of Southeast Asian Nations and other multilateral frameworks.

The message underscores continued efforts by both countries to maintain close diplomatic ties and enhance regional collaboration.
