PHNOM PENH, April 10, 2026 — Cambodia and Vietnam have pledged to further strengthen and expand their bilateral cooperation across key sectors, officials said following high-level talks in Phnom Penh.

Prime Minister Hun Manet met with Tran Cam Tu, a senior member of the Politburo of the Communist Party of Vietnam, at the Peace Palace on Thursday, where both sides reaffirmed their commitment to deepening ties.

During the meeting, Tran Cam Tu conveyed greetings from Vietnam’s top leadership, including To Lam and newly appointed Prime Minister Le Minh Hung, while congratulating Cambodia on its recent development achievements.

He expressed confidence that Cambodia would continue to make further progress under Hun Manet’s leadership, and praised the growing strength of bilateral relations, which he said are entering a “new phase.”

Hun Manet welcomed the Vietnamese delegation and congratulated Vietnam on the success of its recent party congress and leadership appointments, highlighting Hanoi’s economic growth and development achievements.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing cooperation across a broad range of sectors, including politics, economy, trade, security and defense, education, and people-to-people ties, particularly youth exchanges.

The discussions also focused on promoting closer coordination to ensure continued stability and mutual benefit, reflecting what both sides described as a longstanding and steadily strengthening partnership between the two neighboring countries.
