Jakarta, 23 September 2025 — Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, held a pull-aside meeting today with Her Excellency Ma. Cristina Aldeguer-Roque, Secretary of Trade and Industry of the Republic of the Philippines.

The discussion focused on the Philippines’ upcoming ASEAN Chairmanship in 2026, with particular emphasis on preparations and potential key initiatives aimed at advancing the work of the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC).

Both sides exchanged views on strengthening regional economic cooperation and ensuring that the Philippines’ leadership would further contribute to ASEAN’s shared goals of integration, resilience, and sustainable growth.
