PHNOM PENH, May 5, 2026 — Cambodia’s Prime Minister Hun Manet will lead a high-level delegation to attend the 48th ASEAN Summit in Cebu, Philippines, from May 7–8, the foreign ministry said on Tuesday.

The summit, hosted by Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos Jr. in his capacity as ASEAN Chair for 2026, will bring together regional leaders under the theme “Journey Towards a Shared Future.

Hun Manet will be accompanied by senior officials, including Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Prak Sokhonn, along with other ministers, government representatives and members of Cambodia’s business community.

Leaders are expected to discuss key regional priorities, including energy security, food security, and the safety and well-being of ASEAN citizens, as well as exchange views on regional and global developments.

On the sidelines of the summit, Hun Manet is also scheduled to hold bilateral meetings with ASEAN counterparts to strengthen cooperation and advance mutual interests, the statement said.

The annual gathering is a key platform for ASEAN member states to coordinate policy direction and reinforce regional integration amid evolving economic and geopolitical challenges.
