Cambodia Engages Private Sector Ahead of FrancoTech 2026

PHNOM PENH, May 15, 2026 — Cambodia has intensified preparations for the FrancoTech technology and digital innovation event that will accompany the 20th Francophonie Summit in 2026, with government ministers meeting private sector representatives to strengthen cooperation ahead of the international gathering.

The meeting in Phnom Penh on Friday was chaired by Telecommunications Minister Chea Vandeth and Women’s Affairs Minister Ing Kantha Phavi, alongside representatives from the Foreign Affairs Ministry, Tourism Ministry and other relevant institutions.

Officials said the discussions focused on preparations for FrancoTech, a major technology and digital innovation forum that Cambodia plans to host alongside the 20th Francophonie Summit next year.

According to the government, the meeting aimed to strengthen coordination between ministries, state institutions and private companies on sponsorship, volunteer participation, technical support and other logistical contributions needed for the event.

Chea Vandeth told participants that preparations for FrancoTech were already progressing and urged businesses to support the initiative to help ensure the event runs smoothly and successfully.

He said the FrancoTech forum and the wider Francophonie Summit represented an important opportunity for Cambodia to showcase its digital capabilities, innovation potential and business environment on the international stage.

Officials also described the summit as a significant event for the global Francophone community that would require broad cooperation and partnership among both public and private sectors.

Cambodia is set to host the 20th Francophonie Summit in 2026, bringing together leaders and representatives from French-speaking countries and organisations worldwide.
