Hun Manet Welcomes CRCC’s Plans to Expand Investment in Cambodia
BEIJING, 16 July 2026 — China Railway Construction Corporation (CRCC) has expressed its intention to expand its investment in Cambodia, targeting key sectors including transport infrastructure, digital infrastructure and renewable energy during a meeting with Prime Minister Hun Manet in Beijing.
The meeting took place on 15 July as Hun Manet began a working visit to China to attend the World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC) from 15-17 July.
During the meeting, Dai Hegen, chairman of CRCC, briefed the Cambodian prime minister on the company’s global operations. He noted that CRCC is one of the world’s leading engineering and construction companies, with businesses spanning construction contracting, infrastructure development, high-end equipment manufacturing and strategic emerging industries across more than 150 countries.
Dai said CRCC has been investing in Cambodia since 2008 and has completed several landmark projects, including the Battambang water supply project, the Cambodia National Sports Village, the Ministry of National Defence headquarters, and the Cambodia-China Friendship Tbong Khmum Hospital.
He thanked the Cambodian government and relevant ministries for their continued cooperation and strong support, which he said had contributed significantly to the company’s successful operations in the country.
Looking ahead, Dai said CRCC plans to expand its investment in Cambodia by exploring opportunities in transport infrastructure, digital infrastructure, renewable energy, and integrated investment, construction and operation projects.
Hun Manet congratulated CRCC on its international achievements and commended the company’s contribution to Cambodia’s infrastructure development. He welcomed the firm’s interest in expanding its investment, describing transport infrastructure as one of the Royal Government’s highest development priorities.
The prime minister noted that Cambodia has made significant progress in developing road and waterway infrastructure over the past two decades, while the government is now placing greater emphasis on expanding and improving the country’s railway network.
Hun Manet encouraged CRCC to maintain close coordination with relevant Cambodian ministries and institutions to identify investment opportunities and translate its expansion plans into concrete projects in the years ahead.
