Phnom Penh, 29 December 2025 — The Ministry of National Defence of the Kingdom of Cambodia has categorically rejected allegations made by the Thai side on 29 December 2025, which claimed the detection of more than 250 Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) allegedly flying from Cambodia into Thai territory.

Lieutenant General Maly Socheata, Spokeswoman of the Ministry of National Defence, stated that the accusations are entirely unfounded and inaccurate. The Ministry affirmed that the Royal Government of Cambodia and the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces remain firmly and sincerely committed to the full and strict implementation of the Joint Statement of the 3rd Special Meeting of the General Border Committee (GBC) dated 27 December 2025, as well as the Joint Declaration on the Peace Agreement between Cambodia and Thailand signed on 26 October 2025, and all related bilateral agreements.

These commitments, she emphasized, are aimed at ensuring a swift restoration of peace, stability, and security, and the return to normal life for communities residing along the shared border of the two countries.

The Ministry further clarified that strict directives have been issued by the Ministry of National Defence and provincial authorities—particularly in border provinces—prohibiting the launch of all types of UAVs. It categorically confirmed that no drone launches have taken place.

The Ministry called on the public, as well as national and international media, to take note of the facts and to approach the issue with objectivity and responsibility, in the interest of maintaining peace and stability along the Cambodia–Thailand border.
