WASHINGTON, Feb 19, 2026 — Cambodia and the United States expressed confidence that bilateral trade and investment will continue to improve under ongoing efforts by both governments, Cambodian officials said.

Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet met U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer on Feb. 18 in Washington, where he was leading a delegation to attend the inaugural meeting of the Board of Peace.

According to a Cambodian government statement, Greer welcomed Cambodia’s efforts to strengthen bilateral relations, particularly in trade. Bilateral trade between the two countries rose by nearly 29% in 2025 compared with 2024, while U.S. investment in Cambodia also recorded notable growth, the statement said.

Hun Manet praised the work of U.S. trade officials in negotiating and concluding a reciprocal trade agreement between the two countries, which set tariff rates at around 19% on Cambodian exports to the United States.

During the meeting, Hun Manet also expressed appreciation for U.S. President Donald J. Trump’s involvement in ceasefire efforts on July 28, 2025, and subsequent joint statements issued in Kuala Lumpur in October and December aimed at promoting lasting peace between Cambodia and Thailand.

Both sides expressed optimism that continued cooperation would further enhance bilateral ties, particularly by expanding trade flows and increasing U.S. investment in Cambodia.

Hun Manet said Cambodia would continue working to complete necessary procedures to ensure the full implementation of the trade agreement for the mutual benefit of both nations.

The two officials also discussed potential areas for deeper cooperation and ways to address remaining issues to facilitate stronger commercial and investment relations.
