Cambodia Updates Bangladesh Envoy on Border Situation, Stresses Peace

PHNOM PENH, April 28, 2026 — Cambodia and Bangladesh reaffirmed their growing bilateral ties during a farewell meeting between senior officials as the Bangladeshi ambassador concluded his diplomatic mission, officials said.

Acting Foreign Minister Eat Sophea received Ambassador Faiyaz Murshid Kazi on Tuesday, marking the end of his tenure in Cambodia.

Both sides expressed satisfaction with the positive momentum in relations, highlighting continued cooperation and expanding engagement between the two countries.

Eat Sophea commended the ambassador for his role in strengthening friendship and promoting closer collaboration during his time in Phnom Penh.

During the meeting, the Cambodian side also briefed the envoy on recent developments along the Cambodia–Thailand border, reiterating its commitment to resolving disputes through peaceful means in accordance with international law and existing agreements.

The meeting underscores Cambodia’s continued diplomatic outreach as it balances bilateral relations and regional issues.
