PHNOM PENH, Sept. 14, 2026 — Cambodia’s exports rose 19.7% year on year to US$24.16 billion in the first eight months of 2026, reflecting continued strong growth in the country’s international trade, according to data from the General Department of Customs and Excise (GDCE).

Cambodia’s total foreign trade reached US$50.68 billion between January and August, up about 20% from the same period last year. Imports increased by 20.7% to US$26.52 billion, leaving the Kingdom with a trade deficit of approximately US$2.36 billion.

The latest figures extend the strong export momentum recorded throughout 2026. Cambodia’s exports had already surpassed US$20.8 billion in the first seven months, representing a 21.3% year-on-year increase.

Cambodia’s major international trading partners include China, the United States, Vietnam, Japan, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Canada, Spain, Indonesia, South Korea, the United Kingdom and Germany.

Key Cambodian export products include garments, textiles, footwear, travel goods, agricultural products, furniture, vehicle tyres, solar panels, bicycles, electrical equipment, electronic components, automotive parts and fishery products.

Agricultural exports include products such as rice, paddy, cashew nuts, cassava and rubber, contributing to the diversification of Cambodia’s export base beyond traditional manufacturing.

Meanwhile, major imports include raw materials for the garment industry, consumer goods, vehicles and machinery, chemicals, fuel, electronic products and construction materials.

The continued expansion in trade comes as Cambodia deepens its integration into regional and global supply chains. Earlier GDCE data showed that export growth has been supported by strong demand for garments, footwear and travel goods, alongside the expansion of electronics, electrical equipment, automotive components and tyre manufacturing.

The figures also show that imports are growing slightly faster than exports, contributing to the widening trade deficit. Nevertheless, the nearly 20% increase in exports during the first eight months highlights the continued strength of Cambodia’s external trade performance in 2026.
