PHNOM PENH, 25 June 2026 – Cambodia’s digital document verification platform, Verify.gov.kh, has won the 2026 United Nations Public Service Award (UNPSA) in recognition of its contribution to transparency and accountability in public services, the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications (MPTC) announced on 25 June.

The award was presented during the 2026 United Nations Public Service Forum, held in Tbilisi, Georgia, under the theme “Transforming Public Institutions: Advancing Innovation, Accountability, Participation and Inclusion.” The platform was selected after competing against more than 700 public service initiatives from 62 countries.

According to the ministry, Verify.gov.kh was officially launched in 2023 as the Cambodian government’s digital document verification platform to combat document forgery, improve the authentication of official documents, reduce processing time and costs, and support the country’s digital government transformation.

The ministry said the platform has been continuously upgraded with artificial intelligence capabilities, biometric technology, enhanced cybersecurity and greater system resilience, enabling it to meet international standards. It added that Verify.gov.kh has also been recognised as the world’s fourth Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) and is being shared with several other countries.

Minister of Post and Telecommunications Chea Vandeth said the recognition reflects Cambodia’s continued efforts to modernise public services through digital innovation and strengthen transparency and accountability in government administration.

The latest award follows previous international recognition for the platform, including a Gold Medal at the ASEAN Digital Awards 2024 in Singapore and the WSIS Prizes 2024 at the World Summit on the Information Society in Switzerland. The ministry said the achievements demonstrate Cambodia’s growing capabilities in developing digital public service solutions that have gained recognition at both regional and global levels.
