Hun Manet Raises Cambodia-Thailand Border Dispute at International CICA Summit
PHNOM PENH, October 15, 2026 — Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet has used the international summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA) to raise Cambodia’s concerns over Thailand’s military actions along the border, calling attention to the importance of international law and compliance with agreements between the two countries.
In a speech lasting more than eight minutes, Hun Manet outlined Cambodia’s position on the border dispute and accused Thai military forces of illegally encroaching on Cambodian territory despite agreements reached between the two sides.
The Cambodian leader used the international platform to emphasise respect for international law, presenting Phnom Penh’s concerns to an international audience as tensions between the neighbouring countries continue.
His remarks highlighted Cambodia’s position that agreements must be respected and that military actions violating a country’s territorial integrity cannot be reconciled with commitments to peaceful relations.
The address at the CICA summit underscores Cambodia’s effort to bring international attention to its concerns over the border situation while emphasising international law as a basis for resolving disputes.
Hun Manet’s speech focused on Cambodia’s allegations against Thai military forces and the need to uphold agreements between the two countries. The claims reflect Cambodia’s official position on the ongoing dispute.
