Indian National Dies After Sudden Collapse in Pattaya
PATTAYA, May 23, 2026 — An Indian man died after collapsing outside a bank in Pattaya on Saturday morning, with Thai police awaiting forensic examination results to determine the exact cause of death.
Police at Pattaya City Police Station said they were notified at approximately 6:50 a.m. that a foreign national had died after being admitted to Pattaya City Hospital.
Investigators later identified the deceased as Mr. Kaku Ram, 34, an Indian national. He was reportedly wearing a white sleeveless shirt and black trousers at the time of the incident.
According to hospital staff, rescue workers and bystanders brought the man to hospital after he suffered convulsions and collapsed unconscious outside Bangkok Bank opposite the VC Hotel in Nong Prue, Bang Lamung district, Chon Buri province.
Despite emergency treatment, doctors were unable to save him.
Police said preliminary examination of the body found no wounds, signs of assault or indications of a struggle. Officers also reported no suspicious circumstances at the scene.
A friend of the deceased told investigators that Mr. Ram had previously experienced intermittent chest pain, according to police.
The investigation is being led by Pol. Lt. Chiwaphat Jaikan, who coordinated with medical staff to conduct an initial examination, photograph the body and document evidence according to procedure.
Authorities have transferred the body for a detailed post-mortem examination to establish the precise cause of death.
Police said further findings would be released after the forensic results are completed.
