MinebeaMitsumi Announces New Investment Expansion in Cambodia
PHNOM PENH, 28 July 2026 — Japanese manufacturer MinebeaMitsumi Inc. plans to further expand its investment in Cambodia, including opening a new factory, as it reaffirmed confidence in the country’s investment climate during talks with Prime Minister Hun Manet.
The announcement came during a meeting on Tuesday at the Peace Palace between Hun Manet and Yoshihisa Kainuma, Chief Executive Officer of MinebeaMitsumi Inc., according to a statement posted on the prime minister’s official Facebook page.
Kainuma thanked the Cambodian government and relevant ministries for their continued support, saying the company’s operations in Cambodia had achieved significant growth and success with government backing.
He briefed the prime minister on the company’s business progress, plans to inaugurate a new factory in Cambodia and its intention to further expand investment in the country.
Kainuma said MinebeaMitsumi’s success in Cambodia had encouraged other Japanese investors to consider investing in the country, adding that the company remains confident in Cambodia’s stable and favorable investment environment.
He also said the company plans to celebrate the 15th anniversary of its operations in Cambodia in December.
Hun Manet welcomed the company’s continued growth, saying MinebeaMitsumi’s achievements also reflected Cambodia’s economic progress.
The prime minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to maintaining a resilient and competitive investment climate while continuing to support domestic and foreign investors.
He highlighted a series of government initiatives aimed at facilitating business and investment, including reforms at the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC), measures to strengthen small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and tax incentives for priority and strategic sectors.
Before concluding the meeting, Hun Manet encouraged MinebeaMitsumi to explore opportunities to invest further in Cambodia’s local supply chain, develop partnerships with domestic businesses and continue working closely with relevant ministries to improve investment efficiency and capitalize on new growth opportunities.
