Swedish Tourist Found Dead in Blood-Filled Pattaya Bathroom
PATTAYA, May 27, 2026 — Thai police are searching for a woman seen on CCTV entering the condominium of a Swedish man who was later found dead inside his South Pattaya apartment under suspicious circumstances.
The victim, identified as 38-year-old Swedish national Mika Huotari, was discovered dead on Thursday, July 17, 2025, inside a fifth-floor unit of an eight-storey condominium in Nong Prue, Bang Lamung district, Chonburi province.
Police said the man was found naked on the bathroom floor with severe head wounds beside an overflowing bathtub filled with blood-stained water. Water had reportedly leaked into the hallway outside the unit.
Authorities said there were no immediate signs of forced entry or a struggle inside the apartment, though forensic officers sealed off the scene for a detailed investigation.
The condominium manager, Ms. Thanchanok, 27, told police that Huotari had been living alone since May and was scheduled to move out the following day. She said she became concerned after receiving no response when attempting to check the room Thursday afternoon for cleaning preparations.
Although the room was locked, she noticed the air conditioning still running and water flowing from beneath the door before entering and discovering the body.
Investigators are now focusing on security camera footage showing a short-haired woman dressed in black entering the victim’s room the night before his body was found. Police said the woman stayed inside for about 20 minutes before leaving carrying a bag.

Authorities have not identified the woman but consider her a person of interest in the investigation.
According to the building manager, the Swedish man frequently brought different women back to his apartment during his stay at the condominium.
Lieutenant Colonel Saijai Kamjulla of Pattaya City Police Station is leading the investigation. Police have not officially classified the case as a homicide but said foul play has not been ruled out.
