Thai King and Queen Participate in Royal Events in Sweden
STOCKHOLM, April 30, 2026 — Thailand’s King Maha Vajiralongkorn and Queen Suthida attended a royal ceremony at the Royal Palace in Stockholm on Thursday as part of an official visit to Sweden.
The Thai monarchs joined a thanksgiving service at the Royal Chapel and observed the Changing of the Guard, along with a choral tribute held in honour of Sweden’s King Carl XVI Gustaf.
The events form part of celebrations marking the Swedish king’s 80th birthday, attended by members of royal families and dignitaries from several countries.
The visit, which runs from April 29 to May 2, was made at the invitation of King Carl XVI Gustaf.
Thailand’s royal household said the trip reflects continued diplomatic and ceremonial ties between the two monarchies.
The Thai king and queen are scheduled to return to Bangkok following the conclusion of the visit.
