PHNOM PENH, Sept. 5, 2026 — Miss Grand International has ended India’s role as host of the Miss Grand International 2026 pageant and relocated the remaining competition activities to Thailand, the organisation announced on September 3, 2026.

The organisation said the decision followed the host country’s failure to meet contractual commitments and agreed standards, including requirements for five-star hospitality and production throughout the competition.

MGI said the requirements were intended to ensure the safety, comfort and overall experience of contestants, while maintaining the professional standards and integrity of the international pageant. The organisation said discussions and efforts had been made to address the issues, but the agreed standards were ultimately not met.

As a result, MGI decided to discontinue all activities related to the 2026 competition in India and proceed with the event in Thailand.

The organisation has confirmed that Miss Grand International 2026 will take place in Thailand from September 18 to October 10, 2026. Further details on venues, schedules, contestant activities and other arrangements are expected to be announced through MGI’s official channels.

The relocation returns the international pageant to Thailand, which previously hosted the competition. Last year’s edition was also held in Bangkok.
