Cambodian Goods Reach 177 Countries as Exports Rise 18%
PHNOM PENH, Sept. 26, 2026 — Cambodia has expanded its export reach to 177 countries, with the value of goods exported to international markets rising to nearly US$35 billion, according to a government report reviewed at a Cabinet meeting on Friday.
The government said export value had reached $34.96 billion, an increase of 18.04 percent, despite global and regional challenges including geopolitical tensions, armed conflicts, disruptions to supply chains, energy pressures and changes in the global economic order.
The figures were discussed during a Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Hun Manet on Sept. 25, which reviewed progress in strengthening domestic supply chains and connecting Cambodian producers with international markets.
According to the government’s spokesperson unit, Cambodia’s exports have increased progressively during the current seventh-mandate administration, rising from $22.53 billion to $25.74 billion, then to $29.62 billion, before reaching the latest figure of $34.96 billion.
The government has pursued an export strategy centred on strengthening existing markets while expanding into new ones, including through bilateral, regional and multilateral free-trade agreements and other preferential trade arrangements.
The Ministry of Commerce has also been working to diversify export destinations, improve public services through digitalisation, strengthen the business environment and promote greater private-sector competitiveness.
Cambodia’s export expansion comes as the country continues to deepen its integration into regional and global supply chains. Official trade data show that the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) remains a major trading framework, with Cambodia’s trade with RCEP members reaching $31.93 billion in the first eight months of 2026.
The government said broader market access has helped increase value added in agricultural products and support the development of domestic industries. It also views trade agreements as an important mechanism for expanding market opportunities and supporting sustainable economic growth.
The Ministry of Commerce is continuing to promote Cambodia-made products through its “Made in Cambodia” campaign, with a focus on processed agricultural and food products and efforts to place more Cambodian goods in major international supermarkets and retail chains.
Separately, the ministry said it had facilitated 38 transactions and memoranda of understanding and promoted Cambodian products to more than 23,000 supermarkets and mini-mart locations worldwide, including in the United States, European Union, United Kingdom, Japan, China and ASEAN markets.
The government said it will continue pursuing export-market diversification, strengthening domestic processing capacity and developing national agricultural and food value chains as part of efforts to expand Cambodia’s presence in international markets.
