King Norodom Sihamoni Pays Tribute to Teachers Ahead of Cambodia’s 2026 Teachers’ Day
PHNOM PENH, Oct. 3, 2026 — King Norodom Sihamoni of Cambodia issued a royal message on October 3, 2026, extending his congratulations and profound gratitude to teachers of all generations ahead of Teachers’ Day on October 5.
In his message, the King highlighted the importance of Teachers’ Day as an occasion to commemorate and honour the invaluable contributions of educators who have played a vital role in developing the nation’s human resources.
King Norodom Sihamoni expressed his deep appreciation and gratitude to teachers for their dedication, commitment and intellectual contributions to rebuilding and developing Cambodian society through education and teaching carried out with a strong sense of responsibility and professional ethics.
The King noted that teachers’ efforts to provide knowledge, guide students and nurture their minds, morality, virtues and values make an important contribution to building a strong foundation for human-resource development and the continued progress of Cambodian society.
King Encourages Teachers to Continue Developing Their Skills
The King also encouraged teachers across the country to continue upholding high standards of ethics, morality and dignity while continually developing their knowledge, capabilities and professional skills.
He stressed the importance of ensuring that teachers’ expertise keeps pace with changes in society and technology, as well as the evolving needs of younger generations.
At the same time, King Norodom Sihamoni called on all Cambodians, particularly parents and guardians, to continue supporting, encouraging and placing high value on the important mission of teachers.
The King said such support would contribute to the development of Cambodia and help build a society that continues to progress in a sustainable manner.
