MOD Condemns Indiscriminate Attack on Civilians Along Thai Border

Banteay Meanchey, 10 December 2025 — The Ministry of National Defence of the Kingdom of Cambodia has issued an urgent alert regarding a serious escalation of hostilities along the Cambodia–Thailand border, following an initiated attack by Thai military forces against Cambodia’s sovereignty and civilian residential areas.
According to the official statement, at 02:22 p.m., Thai military forces fired toxic gas into O Bei Chon Commune, Ou Chrov District, Banteay Meanchey Province, an area inhabited by civilians within Cambodia’s 5th Military Region.
The Ministry strongly condemns these indiscriminate and brutal acts, describing them as a grave violation of international humanitarian law and the fundamental principles protecting civilian populations during armed conflict.
Cambodia affirms its commitment to safeguarding its people and territorial integrity while continuing to monitor the situation with the highest level of vigilance and restraint.
