Phnom Penh, 7 January 2026 — The Ministry of Interior of the Kingdom of Cambodia hereby informs the national and international public that, within the framework of international cooperation to combat cross-border crime and pursuant to a request from the competent authorities of the People’s Republic of China, Cambodian law enforcement authorities have arrested and transferred three Chinese nationals to the People’s Republic of China in accordance with applicable laws and procedures.

The three individuals—Mr. Chen Zhi, Mr. Xu Ji Liang, and Mr. Shao Ji Hui—were transferred on 6 January 2026, following several months of joint investigation and close coordination between Cambodian authorities and their Chinese counterparts.

The Ministry of Interior further clarifies that Mr. Chen Zhi’s Cambodian nationality was officially revoked by Royal Decree in December 2025, in full compliance with the Nationality Law of the Kingdom of Cambodia, prior to the execution of the transfer.

This operation reflects the strong commitment of the Royal Government of Cambodia to upholding the rule of law, combating transnational crime, and strengthening effective cooperation with international partners, while fully respecting national sovereignty, domestic legislation, and relevant international legal standards.
