The USS Cincinnati (LCS-20), carrying around 100 crew members, will remain at Ream Naval Base from January 24 to January 28. The vessel, displacing about 3,000 tonnes and measuring nearly 130 metres in length, is equipped to operate helicopters and is commanded by Cmdr. Andrew J. Recame.

The ship was formally welcomed by Rear Admiral In Sokhemara, deputy commander of Ream Naval Base. During the visit, Cambodian and US naval forces will conduct joint training activities and friendly sporting exchanges aimed at strengthening mutual trust and operational cooperation.

Cambodian officials said the port call reflects Phnom Penh’s commitment to an open, transparent defence policy and constructive engagement with international partners, contributing to peace and stability in ASEAN and the wider Indo-Pacific region in accordance with international law and respect for sovereignty.

The visit coincides with an official trip to Cambodia by Samuel Paparo, commander of the US Indo-Pacific Command. The USS Cincinnati is the third foreign naval vessel to dock at Ream since the base’s modernisation was completed in 2025, following earlier visits by Japanese and Vietnamese warships.
