UNESCO’s new envoy meets Cambodian king
PHNOM PENH, Jan 28, 2026 — The newly appointed UNESCO Representative to Cambodia, Flavio Bonetti, was received in audience by Norodom Sihamoni on Wednesday, UNESCO Cambodia said.
During the audience, Bonetti conveyed UNESCO’s wish to continue and deepen cooperation with Cambodia across its core areas of work, including culture, education, sciences and communication, according to a statement posted on UNESCO Cambodia’s official Facebook page.
UNESCO and Cambodia have cooperated for decades on heritage protection, education development and cultural preservation, with Cambodia hosting several UNESCO World Heritage sites.
