Chon Buri, Feb. 13, 2026— CCTV footage from a municipal sports facility used to store ballot boxes in Chon Buri has been found missing for a key date in the handling of votes, prompting further scrutiny amid calls for a recount.

The issue emerged late on Feb. 12 as ballot boxes were being transferred from the Chon Buri Municipal Badminton Court to a community hall, officials said.

Sahassawat Kumkong, a candidate from the People’s Party and an election observer, told reporters that video files from Feb. 9 — the date of the first transfer of ballot boxes for Constituency 1 — could not be located in the venue’s CCTV system.

Feb. 9 is considered significant because it marked the initial movement of ballot boxes. The footage could help verify the handling of vote tally sheets, known as Sor.Sor. 5/11 forms, after members of the public alleged some documents were found discarded, sparking demands for a recount.

Local officials said the missing footage may be linked to a technical malfunction, noting that recordings from the past three months were reportedly unavailable, with only files from Feb. 10 onward accessible.

Authorities said they are checking whether backup copies exist or whether the system failed to record. Municipal officials and public representatives plan to jointly inspect the CCTV system with technical experts on Feb. 13.
