German Company Targets Value-Added Pepper Production in Cambodia
PHNOM PENH, March 12, 2026 — German company Fuchs Gruppe plans to invest in pepper processing in Cambodia, aiming to add value to the country’s agricultural supply chain and expand exports to international markets, officials said on Thursday.
The plan was discussed during a meeting between Cambodian Agriculture Minister Dith Tina, German Ambassador Stefan Messerer, and a business delegation from Fuchs Gruppe led by CEO Nil Meyer-Pries at the Ministry of Agriculture in Phnom Penh.
Cambodian officials welcomed the proposed investment, saying it could help strengthen the country’s agro-processing sector and boost exports of Cambodian agricultural products.
Dith Tina highlighted the strong cooperation between Cambodia and Germany in agriculture, particularly in promoting Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) to improve the quality of Cambodian produce for global markets.
Officials from both sides expressed optimism that the project could enhance agricultural trade, improve efficiency and support sustainable development in Cambodia’s farming sector.
Founded more than 70 years ago, Fuchs Gruppe is a major global food and spice processing company with operations in over 20 locations across 10 countries, including Cambodia.
