PHNOM PENH, April 1, 2026 — The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) has reaffirmed its commitment to support Cambodia’s development projects, as Prime Minister Hun Manet met with AIIB President Zou Jiayi in Phnom Penh.

During the meeting, Zou praised Cambodia’s rapid economic progress and long-term development vision, describing the country as a key strategic partner for the bank. She outlined AIIB’s four priority areas — climate and clean energy, regional connectivity, technology-enabled infrastructure and private sector development — noting their strong alignment with Cambodia’s national strategy.

Zou reaffirmed AIIB’s commitment to deepening cooperation and supporting infrastructure and development projects in Cambodia.

Hun Manet welcomed the continued partnership, expressing confidence that cooperation with AIIB would expand further under Zou’s leadership. He highlighted Cambodia’s push toward clean energy, including a target of 70% renewable energy by 2030 and policies promoting electric vehicle adoption as part of long-term carbon neutrality goals.

The prime minister also emphasized ongoing reforms in logistics and energy sectors aimed at enhancing Cambodia’s competitiveness at both regional and global levels.

He encouraged AIIB to strengthen engagement with key ministries, particularly the Ministry of Economy and Finance, to accelerate the implementation of development projects and maximize benefits for the Cambodian people.
