NAKHON RATCHASIMA, April 15, 2026 — A fire severely damaged a cannabis drying and storage warehouse in northeastern Thailand early on Wednesday, authorities said, with no injuries reported.

Firefighters responded to the blaze at an industrial estate in Muang district shortly after 5:00 a.m. and brought the fire under control within about an hour.

The facility, located in the Suranaree Industrial Estate, was being leased by a private operator believed to be based in Bangkok, according to the warehouse owner.

Emergency crews from local municipal units, supported by rescue teams, were deployed to contain the flames and prevent the fire from spreading to nearby structures.

Authorities said the extent of the damage is still being assessed, while forensic officers have begun examining the scene to determine the cause of the fire.

The incident has raised concerns about safety standards in cannabis storage and processing facilities, as Thailand continues to regulate its rapidly evolving cannabis sector.

Officials said further findings from the investigation would inform recommendations to prevent similar incidents in the future.
