BANGKOK, April 20, 2026 — Thai police are investigating a foreign man accused of violently assaulting a woman and holding her against her will inside a condominium in Bangkok’s Ramkhamhaeng district, authorities said.

The 31-year-old victim, identified only as Ms. Pimphilail, gave additional testimony to investigators at Hua Mak Police Station on April 18, saying she was beaten for several hours, threatened with a knife and prevented from leaving the apartment.

She said she had known the suspect for several months through her work in the entertainment sector and that he had previously shown no violent behaviour.

According to her statement, the incident began after the pair returned to the condominium late on April 9 following a night out drinking. She said the suspect became angry after discovering she intended to leave.

“He started attacking me around 5:30 a.m. and continued until 9 a.m.,” she told investigators. “I was punched, kicked and struck repeatedly with a lamp until there was blood across the room.”

She alleged the man also chased her with a knife, injuring one of her fingers, and forced her to kneel beside a bed for nearly an hour while making threats.

The victim said another man believed to be a friend of the suspect was present in the room but did not intervene.

She also told police she believed the attacker was under the influence of drugs, citing erratic and aggressive behaviour. She said no immediate drug test was conducted after the incident.

After the assault, the suspect allegedly apologised and took her to hospital. However, she said compensation offered by the man — 10,000 baht ($270) — did not cover her medical expenses, including scans and treatment.

The woman said she remained traumatised and fearful.

“My mental state is very bad. I cannot sleep or be alone. I feel like someone is following me all the time,” she said.

Police said they were coordinating with immigration authorities to monitor the suspect, whose identity and nationality have not been disclosed. Investigators are reviewing CCTV footage, collecting evidence and preparing to summon him for questioning.

Authorities said the suspect remains in Thailand and has not attempted to flee. Further legal action is expected once evidence collection is completed.
