PATTAYA, April 27, 206 — An Indian tourist has reported that a gold necklace worth about 100,000 baht was stolen after an encounter with two transgender women (ladyboys) on Pattaya Beach, police said on Monday.

The 36-year-old tourist, identified as Rishav Singh, filed a complaint at Pattaya City Police Station with the assistance of a Thai acquaintance.

According to the complaint, the incident occurred in the early hours of April 25 after the tourist left entertainment venues in Pattaya’s Walking Street area and was returning to his hotel along Beach Road.

Police said two individuals approached the tourist, engaged him in conversation and hugged him. He later discovered that his gold necklace was missing after returning to his accommodation.

The necklace was valued at around 300,000 Indian rupees, or roughly 100,000 baht, according to the complaint.

Investigators are reviewing CCTV footage from the area and showing the tourist photographs of suspects previously linked to similar theft cases, police said.

No arrests had been announced as of Sunday, and the case remains under investigation.
