Cambodian Exports Jump More Than 21% in Early 2026
PHNOM PENH, May 11, 2026 — Cambodia’s international trade volume rose nearly 20% in the first four months of 2026 compared with the same period last year, driven by strong export growth, according to official customs data released on Monday.
Data from General Department of Customs and Excise of Cambodia showed that total trade between Cambodia and its international partners reached more than $23.38 billion between January and April, up 19.9% from $19.50 billion during the same period in 2025.
Cambodia’s exports during the four-month period totalled more than $11.12 billion, marking an increase of 21.7% year-on-year, while imports rose 18.3% to about $12.26 billion, the data showed.
The figures reflect continued recovery and expansion in Cambodia’s trade sector amid sustained demand from major export markets and growth in manufacturing and agricultural shipments.
The United States, China, the European Union and regional ASEAN partners remain among Cambodia’s key trading markets.
Garments, footwear, travel goods, bicycles, agricultural products and electronic components continue to rank among Cambodia’s major export categories.
The latest customs figures come as Cambodia seeks to diversify export markets and strengthen regional trade links through bilateral and multilateral trade agreements, including the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership and the Cambodia-China free trade agreement.
Economists have said export growth and rising investment inflows remain key drivers supporting Cambodia’s economic recovery and industrial expansion in 2026.
