PHNOM PENH, June 23, 2026 – Cambodia and Israel agreed to deepen bilateral relations and expand cooperation across a range of sectors during a meeting between Prime Minister Hun Manet and Israel’s newly appointed ambassador to Cambodia, the Cambodian prime minister’s office said on Tuesday.

Prime Minister Hun Manet met Israeli Ambassador Alona Fisher-Kamm, who is based in Bangkok, at the Peace Palace in Phnom Penh, according to a statement released after the meeting.

The ambassador said bilateral relations were progressing positively and had significant potential for further growth. She noted that the two countries’ relatively young populations created opportunities to expand cooperation in multiple areas.

Fisher-Kamm reaffirmed Israel’s commitment to continuing existing programmes, including agricultural internships and employment opportunities for Cambodian workers in Israel, while seeking to strengthen cooperation in education, culture and science.

Hun Manet congratulated the ambassador on her appointment and welcomed efforts to deepen Cambodia-Israel ties. He said the Cambodian government would continue supporting existing cooperation while promoting new partnerships in sectors with growth potential.

The two sides agreed to strengthen collaboration in trade and investment, agriculture and water resource management, education, technology and healthcare. They also discussed promoting greater engagement between the private sectors of both countries, according to the statement.
