BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, April 28, 2026 — Cambodia and the European Union reaffirmed strong bilateral relations and their shared commitment to peace and stability during talks on the sidelines of the ASEAN-EU Ministerial Meeting, officials said.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Prak Sokhonn met with EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas on Tuesday, where both sides highlighted ongoing cooperation and recent high-level engagements.

They recalled a telephone conversation held in December 2025, as well as Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet’s visit to Brussels in February 2026, describing the exchanges as productive and reflective of deepening ties.

The two sides also discussed regional and international issues of mutual concern, including recent developments along the Cambodia–Thailand border.

Both reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining peace and stability, while stressing the importance of respecting international law, according to the statement.

The meeting took place during the 25th ASEAN-EU Ministerial Meeting in Brunei, where regional leaders are engaging on cooperation and geopolitical challenges.
