Cambodian Minister Honors Cyclist Following Global Charity Journey
PHNOM PENH, 22 July 2026 — Cambodia’s Minister of Information, Neth Pheaktra, has received independent adventure cyclist Tiv Dararith following the successful completion of his two-year, around-the-world cycling mission to raise funds for children’s healthcare in Cambodia.
The meeting took place on Tuesday at the Ministry of Information, where the minister congratulated Dararith on completing his campaign, “Cycling Around the World for Cambodian Children.”
During the mission, Dararith cycled approximately 60,000 kilometres across 40 countries over two years, raising US$260,243.57 for humanitarian causes.
According to the ministry, the funds will be donated to Angkor Hospital for Children and the Cambodia Kantha Bopha Foundation to support medical treatment and healthcare services for Cambodian children.
Neth Pheaktra praised Dararith’s dedication, perseverance and commitment to contributing to the country’s social development, particularly through efforts to improve the well-being of Cambodian children.
The minister also encouraged the cyclist to continue supporting humanitarian initiatives benefiting children in Cambodia.
The reception recognized the completion of one of Cambodia’s longest individual charity cycling expeditions, which combined endurance sport with international fundraising to support pediatric healthcare in the country.
