China Welcomes Thailand’s Commitment to Dialogue With Cambodia
NEW YORK, May 29, 2026 — Thailand has reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining dialogue and communication with Cambodia to preserve peace and stability along the shared border, according to a statement released following talks between Thai and Chinese foreign ministers.
The pledge was made by Thai Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sihasak Phuangketkeow during a meeting with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on the sidelines of a high-level United Nations Security Council session on May 26.
According to the Chinese Embassy in Bangkok, Sihasak said Thailand would continue dialogue and communication with Cambodia as part of efforts to maintain peace, stability and constructive relations along the border.
