PHNOM PENH, November 8, 2026 — Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet has highlighted the emotional suffering of families affected by the conflict along the Cambodia-Thailand border, using a song performed by a young girl from an affected family to underline the importance of resolving territorial disputes peacefully.

In a post on his official Facebook page, Hun Manet shared the song titled “Mother, Will Dad Come Back When the War Is Over?”, performed by Tep Chenda, a young girl whose family is among tens of thousands of Cambodian households affected by the border conflict.

The prime minister said the song offered listeners an opportunity to understand the pain and suffering that war brings to Cambodian families living along the border.

He also said the experiences of affected families showed why Cambodia must remain patient and make every effort to resolve territorial disputes peacefully and in accordance with international law.

“As the country’s leader, I do not want to see our people suffer like this again unnecessarily,” Hun Manet said.

His message reaffirmed his government’s stated commitment to pursuing a peaceful resolution to border issues through legal and diplomatic means, while seeking to prevent further hardship for civilians.
