Pattaya Nightlife Incident Leaves Indian Tourist Dead
PATTAYA, May 12, 2026 — A 30-year-old Indian tourist died after collapsing inside an entertainment venue on Pattaya Walking Street during the early hours of Monday, police said, as authorities launched an investigation into the cause of death.
Emergency responders from the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation and medical personnel from Pattaya City Hospital were dispatched to the venue at about 3:30 a.m. after reports that a foreign tourist had lost consciousness.
Rescue workers found the man lying unconscious on the floor with a head injury. Officials from Pattaya City were performing CPR in front of shocked tourists and staff members, but the man was later pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said the tourist had arrived at the venue with a group of friends and initially appeared to be behaving normally throughout the evening.
Witnesses told investigators the man had sat resting at a table shortly before the incident. Friends later attempted to wake him to leave the venue but found him unresponsive.
Venue staff then alerted emergency services and carried him downstairs while awaiting medical assistance.
Officers from Pattaya City Police Station inspected the scene and collected evidence, but authorities have not yet confirmed the cause of death.
Police said the body would undergo a post-mortem examination to determine whether the tourist died from an underlying medical condition or from injuries related to a fall and impact to the head.
The incident caused alarm among tourists and workers in Pattaya’s busy nightlife district, one of Thailand’s most visited entertainment areas.
Authorities said investigations were continuing and further questioning of witnesses could follow pending autopsy results.
