SEOUL, May 20, 2026 — Sky Angkor Airlines plans to launch direct flights between Seoul and Cambodia’s tourism hub of Siem Reap during the upcoming winter season, according to discussions held with Cambodia’s ambassador to South Korea.

Cambodian Ambassador to South Korea Khuon Phon Ratanak met Sky Angkor Airlines marketing executive Kim Andy in Seoul on Tuesday to discuss expanding air connectivity and tourism cooperation between the two countries, the Cambodian embassy said in a statement.

The talks focused on travel demand between Cambodia and South Korea, as well as ways to improve convenience for Cambodian passengers using the airline’s services and attract more South Korean tourists to Cambodia.

During the meeting, the ambassador highlighted growing interest among Korean and international tourists in visiting Angkor Wat and encouraged the airline to consider launching direct flights from Seoul to Siem Reap.

In response, Kim said the airline was preparing plans to operate direct Seoul-Siem Reap flights during the coming winter season, according to the statement.

Siem Reap, home to the UNESCO-listed Angkor archaeological complex, remains Cambodia’s main tourism destination and a major driver of the country’s travel industry.

Cambodia has been stepping up efforts to revive international tourism and improve air connectivity, particularly with major Asian markets such as South Korea and China.
