Thailand Prepares to Revoke Citizenship of Three More Israeli Businessmen
BANGKOK, November 5, 2026 — Thailand is preparing evidence that could lead to the revocation of Thai citizenship from three more Israeli businessmen as authorities expand investigations into suspected nominee companies, property transactions and financial activities, Justice Minister Police General Rutthaphol Naowarat said on November 4.
The move follows the revocation of Thai citizenship from Israeli-linked Chabad leader Rabbi Yosef Chaim Kantor on October 28. Authorities said he continued using his American passport for international travel after becoming a Thai citizen in 2013.
Rutthaphol said the identities of the three additional Israeli businessmen had not been disclosed. Investigators are examining their nationality records, business arrangements, financial transfers, property holdings and tax compliance.
The minister stressed that possible citizenship revocations would be handled separately from investigations into potential business, property, tax or immigration violations. No criminal charges have been filed against Kantor, and his assets have not been frozen or seized, although three Bangkok condominium units registered in his name must be sold within one year.
A separate investigation involving Israeli businessman Maimon David Marciano over suspected unlawful business arrangements in Pattaya is also ongoing. However, authorities said they had found no financial transactions linking Marciano to Kantor.
