UN Praises Cambodia’s Contribution to Peacekeeping Missions Worldwide
UNITED NATIONS, October 8, 2026 — More than 450 Cambodian military and police personnel are serving in five United Nations peacekeeping missions around the world, contributing to international efforts to promote peace and protect vulnerable communities in conflict-affected areas.
According to the United Nations, these Cambodian peacekeepers are serving far from home, leaving their families behind as they carry out their duties in support of global peace and security.
Their deployment reflects Cambodia’s contribution to UN peacekeeping efforts, which bring together personnel from different countries to help address conflicts and support communities affected by instability.
Behind their service are families who endure long periods of separation while their loved ones work in challenging environments to protect others. Their commitment and sacrifice underscore the human cost of serving the cause of peace beyond national borders.
The UN has highlighted the service and sacrifices of peacekeepers through its Service and Sacrifice feature, recognizing the dedication of women and men who take on these responsibilities in the pursuit of peace.
Cambodia’s peacekeepers continue to represent the country in international missions, demonstrating its participation in collective efforts to build a more peaceful and secure world.
Their service is a reminder that peacekeeping extends beyond military and police duties. It also involves protecting vulnerable people, supporting stability and making personal sacrifices in the hope of a safer future for communities affected by conflict.
We extend our gratitude to Cambodia’s brave peacekeepers and their families for their service, courage and sacrifice in support of global peace.
