TAK, November 4, 2026 — The Thai army fired warning illumination rounds near the Myanmar border in Mae Sot district, Tak province, on Tuesday evening after bullets from clashes between Myanmar government forces and ethnic minority and resistance groups crossed into Thai territory.

The Rajamanu Task Force, operating under the Naresuan Force, fired the rounds at approximately 7:15 p.m. in response to the incident and in accordance with the military’s Rules of Engagement (ROE), according to Khaosod, which reported the incident on Wednesday.

Following the incident, the task force strengthened security along the border, deploying patrols to monitor the area and maintain a visible military presence.

The measures are intended to prepare for potential further incidents and prevent unauthorised cross-border support for the fighting, while prioritising the safety and property of residents in the border area.
