Phnom Penh, 11 January 2026 — The Royal Government of Cambodia will mobilize both national budgetary resources and funding from development partners to rapidly rehabilitate public infrastructure damaged by the Cambodia–Thailand border conflict, Prime Minister Hun Manet announced.

The Prime Minister stated that government task forces are currently assessing the extent of damage to key public infrastructure, including religious sites, schools, health centers, referral hospitals, markets, roads, bridges, water supply networks, electricity systems, and telecommunications facilities. Based on these assessments, the Royal Government will undertake swift and targeted reconstruction efforts in accordance with on-the-ground conditions, with priority given to essential services.

Speaking in a special national address on the evening of January 10 regarding government measures to address the impacts of the border conflict, Prime Minister Hun Manet expressed his deep appreciation to the Government of the People’s Republic of China, the Government of the United States, the Asian Development Bank (ADB), and other friendly countries and development partners for their material and financial assistance. These contributions, he said, have been vital in alleviating the hardships faced by displaced persons, supporting the restoration of livelihoods, and facilitating the repair of critical infrastructure—particularly schools and health facilities—as communities return safely to their homes.

The Prime Minister further expressed hope that international partners will continue to support Cambodia’s recovery process toward full normalization, especially in rebuilding essential infrastructure and improving the livelihoods of citizens affected by the border conflict.

Prime Minister Hun Manet also commended the strong nationwide solidarity demonstrated by the Cambodian people, who have contributed financial support, essential supplies, and material assistance to frontline armed forces, police personnel, and displaced civilians. He underscored that this collective effort reflects a profound spirit of patriotism, unity, and national resilience.
