Cambodia to Host Shaolin Martial Arts Show at Bayon Temple
PHNOM PENH, April 27 — Cambodia has welcomed 16 Shaolin temple monks from China ahead of a martial arts performance at the Bayon Temple, in a cultural exchange event highlighting close ties between Phnom Penh and Beijing.
Officials from Cambodia’s Overseas Tourism Marketing and Promotion Department received the delegation at Techo International Airport on Sunday, authorities said.
The performance is scheduled for April 30 at the northern section of Bayon Temple, one of the best-known monuments within the Angkor archaeological complex in Siem Reap province.
Organisers said admission would be free to the public.
The event is expected to combine traditional Chinese martial arts with cultural tourism promotion, as Cambodia seeks to attract more international visitors, particularly from China.
China remains one of Cambodia’s closest diplomatic and economic partners, with growing cooperation in tourism, infrastructure and cultural exchanges.
