NWC Investment to Produce MV Promoting Cambodia to Chinese Visitors
PHNOM PENH, May 20, 2026 — Cambodia’s Tourism Ministry said Chinese-linked company NWC Investment has pledged to help promote the country’s tourism potential and investment opportunities to the Chinese market as Cambodia prepares to launch a temporary visa-free program for Chinese visitors.
Tourism Minister Huot Hak met NWC Investment chief executive Zhuyun Wu on May 19 to discuss cooperation on tourism promotion projects and investment outreach, according to a ministry statement released on Wednesday.
During the meeting, Wu presented the company’s business activities and proposed producing a promotional music video aimed at showcasing Cambodia’s tourism attractions and investment potential to Chinese audiences.
The initiative is expected to support Cambodia’s efforts to attract more Chinese tourists and investors, particularly during the country’s “green season” tourism campaign.
Huot Hak welcomed the proposal and called on the company to continue promoting Cambodia’s positive image, including its safety, tourism appeal and investment opportunities, through media platforms in both Cambodia and China.
Cambodia has been seeking to revive tourism arrivals and foreign investment following regional economic challenges and shifting travel trends in Asia.
The government recently announced a temporary visa exemption program for Chinese nationals, allowing stays of up to 14 days from June 15 to Oct. 15, 2026, in an effort to boost arrivals during the rainy season.
Chinese tourists were previously among Cambodia’s largest international visitor groups before the COVID-19 pandemic, contributing significantly to sectors including hospitality, real estate and retail.
