PHUKET, April 27, 2026 — A Thai AirAsia flight from Krabi to Bangkok was evacuated and delayed for more than four hours after a passenger made a false bomb threat, according to DailyNews.

The incident occurred on Sunday aboard Thai AirAsia flight FD4401, operated by an Airbus A320, shortly before departure from Krabi International Airport to Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport.

Police said a 45-year-old Thai man from Chon Buri told a flight attendant to be careful with his bag and to “beware of a bomb” while she was assisting him with storing luggage in the overhead compartment.

After the remark was repeated, the crew informed the captain, who ordered the aircraft to return to its parking position and initiated emergency safety procedures.

The passenger was detained, while all other travellers were evacuated from the plane. Authorities removed baggage from the aircraft and bomb disposal officers conducted a full inspection.

No explosives were found, and the aircraft was cleared to depart at around 9 p.m., more than four hours after the incident.

The suspect later told police he intended the comment as a joke, according to local media reports.

He now faces charges under Thailand’s Act on Certain Offences Against Air Navigation, which carries penalties of up to five years in prison, a fine of up to 200,000 baht, or both.
