PHNOM PENH, 6 August 2026 — Cambodia expects capital raised through its securities market to reach approximately US$2 billion in 2026, marking a significant milestone for the country’s capital market development, according to the Securities and Exchange Regulator of Cambodia (SERC).

Speaking at the 6th Investor Forum on Securities Savings on Tuesday, Sou Socheat, Director General of the Securities and Exchange Regulator of Cambodia, said the projected fundraising reflects the continued growth and increasing maturity of Cambodia’s capital market.

He added that the launch of Cambodia’s government securities market has also played an important role in strengthening and expanding the country’s capital market.

The investor forum, jointly organized by the Securities and Exchange Regulator of Cambodia, Royal Group Securities Plc., and the Cambodia Securities Exchange (CSX), aimed to enhance public understanding of securities investment and highlight emerging investment opportunities in Cambodia.

Sou Socheat encouraged the public to participate in Cambodia’s stock market by purchasing shares or following upcoming initial public offerings (IPOs), saying it would help investors gain firsthand experience and better understand the benefits of long-term investing.

Meanwhile, Seng Chanthoeun, Chief Executive Officer of Royal Group Securities Plc., said investors who open trading accounts with the company can already trade securities listed on the Cambodia Securities Exchange and are expected to gain access to international securities markets in the future.

He advised prospective investors to carefully assess both risks and potential returns by studying listed companies and investment strategies before investing. He also recommended using surplus funds for investment rather than borrowing money or using savings needed for daily living expenses.

Seng Chanthoeun encouraged first-time investors to begin with small investments instead of waiting until they have substantial capital, noting that gradual participation would allow them to better understand market movements while building investment experience.

The forum also featured presentations on investment fundamentals, stock trading analysis, and practical demonstrations using the CSX Trade platform, aiming to equip participants with knowledge to develop long-term investment strategies and contribute to the continued development of Cambodia’s capital market.
